When driving in Lebanon I can’t miss the busy billboard ads everywhere, some stupid ideas that I give it only a second or less... this does not mean I never pay attention..A catchy headline is always effective that’s why I took a picture of that billboard that says :Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec moi? (Do you want to sleep with me ?) ….This Ad makes me wonder if it is a classic for a bed linen or it will turns out to something else? We will wait and see.
This is not the first time I post about that lovely quiet place, yesterday I had a lovely day at Adonis river or Naher ibarahim . It is really nice to walk and discover many different species ... Ducks that you can’t miss that swim the river so you can feed them , they were lucky because I had some sandwiches in my car … when they had finished eating they turn their backs and left me alone in that quiet place… Hope you enjoy the pictures..
A day to celebrate and support torture victims and stand united against this cruel violation of human rights.
26 June was the day that the Convention against Torture came into force. It was also the day that the United Nations Charter was signed - the first international instrument to embody obligations for Member States to promote and encourage respect for human rights.
The Lebanese Centre of Human Rights (CLDH) Program for that day:
Wednesday 23rd of June:
Panel discussion with women who were victims of torture, either directly or indirectly as wives, mothers or sisters of victims.
Friday 25th of June:
The Lebanese Centre of Human Rights (CLDH) in collaboration with other NGO’s, is organizing a HUMAN CHAIN in front of the Parliament building (Place de l'Etoile) in Downtown on 25/6/10 from 10:00hrs onwards to “pay its respects to those who have endured the unimaginable” and raise public awareness on these human rights abuses.
My freind Tarek Chemaly made a great project he has gathered the best and most memorable advertising jingles from the Lebanese archives and put them in a monologue which is delivered by illustrator-copywriter-actress Deborah Phares entitled "Masmou7 lasek al e3lanat" (think Pampa, Top Juice, Paul Jardin, Gelati Cortina, Reovac, Kassatly Chtroura all in one place). you can watch the video and read more about this project on his blog Beirut/NTSC
On the first issue the Communicate magazine list my blog on the special Blogosphere Page, last week I was told that my blog is listed again on the 3rd issue Copychicken post: you can read the post Here and Here.I would like to thank Communicate magazine for reading and making a special page dedicated for the buzzing blogosphere in Lebanon.
Lebanon’s blogosphere is probably one of the most vibrant digital scenes in the region. Lebanese bloggers are many, dedicated and very very outspoken. At a time where all marketers eyes are turned to social media and online communities, watching intently for direct feedback on how they are perceived, here is what increasingly influential Lebanese bloggers – have to say about the work.
They’re listening and watching there were many reasons to get the Lebanese blogosphere buzzing this month. Lingerie and swimwear billboards all along the coast got vandalized, which certainly caused a stir, as you can see from the selection below: and advertisers also provided ample topics for heated discussion. The high season is certainly starting the hot way
Better late than never, we finally catch up with Joe’s box. Which a few weeks ago nailed Hawa Chicken and ad agency Publico for their outrageous appropriation of Switzerland based supermarket chain Micro’s TV commercial. Since then news of the plagiarism has crossed borders to reach Europe, not something to be particularly proud of.
It is officially summer time in Lebanon, festival season and of course
outdoors activities, my best getaway is the beach in my hometown Okaibe (when I
have time),
a long sand
beach of 1000 meters where you can meet Lebanese from all over Lebanon , if you don’t
want to swim you can play walk run or even have a chat with the fishermen of the town and of
course you can take beautiful photos…
Many Lebanese are destroying all the old nice buildings of our history and transform it to a luxury skyscrapers in Beirut other smart investors are preserving those historical houses to welcome all the great events in Lebanon .This is the case of this Lovely house in Zouk area.
For all internet users in Lebanon you have to stop the E-Transactions law that could have terrible implications for the Lebanese economy and for professional and personal privacy.
Among the articles of concern are:
Article 92, saying anyone providing online services must apply for a license. Result: More paperwork, more bureaucracy, more delays, less revenue.
Article 82, allowing for the warrantless search and seizure of financial, managerial, and electronic files, including hard drives, computers, etc. Result: The government has pre-approval to seize your company and personal assets and information, without cause.
Article 70, establishing the Electronic Signature & Services Authority, a new regulatory and licensing body with practically unchecked powers.

I went with one I hadn’t had before a dark chocolate and one that I love: chocolate and mint ( I love this combination) I sat down in front of the big window showing all the new buildings of Beirut that I love …the taste of the ice cream was great and unique .Chocolat Milano is by far my favorite ice cream if you are in Beirut you have to pass by this place the service is great and the ice cream ...YUMMY.
Zwz is communicating the new world cup campaign on twitter and face book as everyone is milking the world cup in Lebanon you can read what I mean on Lilian's blog, for some it is a brilliant idea, in my opinion this campaign is a Déjà vu...
Last week I when watching the TV a weird show start on OTV , the show is about A super hero Mike feghale sitting there on his chair with an hypnotize television host , receiving calls from desperate or psychologically disturbed people asking questions about their future…She will get married? Will be happy? When the problems will be solved? Will be rich?...And the super hero answer their questions confidently, pretending to have the prediction powers!! I was really shocked to see that in a Lebanese Chanel, I am sure Otv is making fortune through advertisements, sponsorship, and Telephone calls…from a silly program like this one and LOL but instead of a silly clown we can have some educative creative program that people will watch and be interested to call and take useful information.. when and who can stop such silly people on TV?
