# 1

We live in a competitive world, and it is so funny how everyone claims to be number one “We’re number one,” “we offer the highest quality,” “it’s our best product” maybe sometimes we  believe the message , try the product and  realize that this product is below our expectations.
It is definitely good to be #1 in helping sales , but just to think or to convince yourself and your consumer that you are "number one"  will not help at all..

Mcdonald did it again.

I spotted the new McDonald’s campaign- France ,this time the slogan is in English not in French and the same idea taken from Crepaway’s campaign come as you are . In my previous post I was wondering who launched this slogan first ? and I got the answer from the comments that Crepaway launched come as you are back in 2005 It was pitched by Leo Burnett.

It is Laughing Season.

Year ago, I have posted about an interesting educational show on the Lebanese channel OTV (LOL Laugh out Limits). Yesterday I saw another copy-cat of this show on the Lebanese channel MTV  (Ahdam Chi), same guests , same dirty old jokes but hosted by Mireille Mazraani. Another boring show that did not entertain me, but  reminds me of a nice quote: " Nobody laughs at old jokes any more".

The Cross

Yesterday I spotted Rudy Rahme last work ,  the Cross on display next to the cinemas in Kasslik area, some people made an issue about this artistic work and wanted to destroy it …well I think it is  a nice artistic work, but in my opinion it should be on display in a big garden or a museum, not on the street .

Silly Great Idea!!

What kids want? Let me guess your answer: a Wii game an iPod or an iPad ….Well you are wrong. All kids want a Silly Bandz, to play with to collect and trade them on school. What is this silly creation? Silly Bandz  started a fad  in USA, France, Italy and of course in Lebanon, Silly Bandz are rubber bands shaped like animals, dinosaurs, sports, princesses, music, letters and lots more... Remind me of the black bracelets that the singer Madonna wore and were popular in the 90’s. The Silly Bandz come in a pack and can be found in various stores in Lebanon  ranging from 3 to 5 $  all kids are crazy of this items In school. They wear like 10 bandz on each wrist on average, it is not for kids only but adults are wearing them as well, in this picture bellow you can see the singer shakira wearing silly bandz on her album cover  'sale el sol'
What I've learned about Silly Bandz
  • A simple catchy  idea succeed while others fail.
  • Think simple when starting a business
  • Some products manage to become popular without significant marketing efforts.
  • Word-of-mouth is a very powerful marketing tool that every entrepreneur must use
  • Robert Croak is a genius
If you are in Lebanon you can find the original silly bandz only at Rooly Booly

Car Accessories in Lebanon

Photo: Joesbox©
When you are in a terrible traffic jam you can’t miss some car accessories on the Lebanese road, Like the latest stupid sticker quotes: "Princess on board" , "if you want to die Follow me" or an Underbody Neon Lights to light the Lebanese road underneath the car, or maybe 100 of stuffed animals, so you feel like you are in front of a teen girl’s bed not a car,  Big Wing Spoilers, as  you are next to a Boeing... Dear drivers those accessories never deliver a good message on the Lebanese road but you get an ugly car that tells the world just how dumb the driver is!

New Sign

Driving in Lebanon is so difficult , we don’t respect road rules, we don’t read  road signs, we park wherever we want, we honk the horn in any occasion... Not only that we use the road signs as a billboard we doodle on it or we promote some political parties like here!
Aren’t we creative??
