10 Things That Olga Taught Me

1-    You cannot believe anything the media tells you
2-    Lebanese like to exaggerate problems
3-    Unfortunately social media is not a credible source in Lebanon
4-    Snow and the weather can distract Lebanese from working/studying
(because it snowed for the first time here)
5-    We love gossip
6-    Our government is not prepared to respond to any emergency situation
7-    We love drama
8-    Fake photos can fool you
9-    We don’t have any backup plan
10-  Global warming is bullshit

That last point is just ignorant. Climate change is real (or would you like to disagree with science ?). The very fact that we are experiencing weather events like hurricane Sandy, and Olga, is a manifestation of the fragility of our climate, and that we have pushed it into another regime of operation which we might never be able to move it out of. One of the most important implications of climate change is the occurrence of more extreme weather events. Read up on it.
Cheers !

I jumped from Reader to here to post the exact comment!! It may not be global warming all the time (although earth's temperature over all _is_ going up) but we are seeing climate change all around...

p.s. global warming doesn't mean it will be warm all over the world, in fact it could mean warm places can become very cold (out of normal)

Other than that, I agree with you
